Releasing back in 2015, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain would become the final love letter from creator Hideo Kojima before he and Konami had their nasty public break up.

Despite the drama unfolding behind the scenes, The Phantom Pain remains one of the most impressive games of the generation, getting near perfect scores from multiple gaming outlets.

Although it has its fair share of criticisms, especially concerning the ending, the journey you go along with Snake is not only captivating, but it will leave you with that classic bewildered look that all Kojima games seem to leave players with.

The game is structured into various missions that the player chooses prior to leaving Mother Base, the main headquarters of operations for Big Boss’ Diamond Dogs, of which Snake is a part of.

Each mission plays out like a puzzle, where the player is given a selection of tools and items to choose from to take into the stage with them prior to starting.

Using those items, combined with your self-designed strategy, will help you infiltrate various bases and sneak past guards to complete the mission and its objectives.

If you are a fan of Hideo Kojima’s work, Metal Gear Solid 5 is must own.

With Death Stranding right around the corner, you may not have much more time to get caught up on his latest works if you wait much longer.
