We love a good surprise and the news of a new Metro game was exciting to see! The latest sequel in the acclaimed Metro series looks to be utilizing the power of both the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. The series will be taking things above ground this time and looks to be switching to an open-world setting as opposed to the linear gameplay in previous outings. However, the gameplay trailer did start off in that familiar underground fashion, where we see Artyom taking on several grotesque bat-looking creatures as he searches for a way out.

That’s not all: a giant mutated-looking bear gives Artyom a fight for his life in the climactic moment from the trailer. Although, if you were watching Sony’s press conference, it seems as though mutated bears will be trendy this year.

Artyom makes his grand escape by zip-lining over to a train taking viewers to the title screen “Metro Exodus.” The subtitle “Exodus” implies he is leaving Metro, but where he is headed is yet to be known. We can’t wait to find out more about this much-anticipated title as it won’t be hitting shelves until 2018.
