JAKE – HOUSTON OUTLAWS – JUNKRAT/GENJI
Jake of the Houston Outlaws was the DPS player to watch on Thursday when the Outlaws fought Dallas Fuel, earning himself the honor of player of the match.
Jake’s use of Junkrat thrives in his gaining of the high ground and keeping it effectively while he just spams bombs into the enemy line. It takes some serious coordination for a team to focus him and take him down. Even when he is killed, it’s not long before he’s back on the high ground harassing the whole enemy team again.
His rip-tire usage is also usually spot on, as can be seen below where he climbs Objective B of the Horizon map wall with ease and gets a triple kill (with Mercy barely making it out alive).
Talk about value! @jakeow gets a triple kill with his RIP-Tire. #OWL2018 #UpTheAntehttps://t.co/U6dIipgQGs pic.twitter.com/FujOif2QI3

Jake also had some great plays as Genji, another character he is known for using well. You can usually count on the crowd going wild whenever he pulls out a classic flanking Dragon Blade.

Jake is finding success with Junkrat and Genji, and is especially smart with his implementation of Junkrat overall. On Thursday it took him on average only 79 seconds to get his ult, and when he’s killing two to three enemies at a time with rip-tire, it tends to make a huge difference. He is definitely one to watch as the Overwatch League progresses.
