Red Dead Redemption 2

beautiful games

Red Dead Redemption 2 spent a lot of time in development, and Rockstar’s efforts have definitely paid off. Not only is it an excellent open world game with a gripping story from start to finish, its game world is also very well-realized, detailed, and unbelievably immersive.

You know how Naughty Dog games like Uncharted and The Last of Us feature worlds that have this insane level of detail and polish? The incredible thing about Red Dead Redemption 2 is that it seems to have that same level of polish as well, except that it’s applied to this staggeringly huge open world map that none of Naughty Dog’s linear, cinematic games have been able to match. Every corner of Rockstar’s vision of the American Frontier is just so beautiful and believable.

The weather and lighting effects are gorgeous, of course, and we loved the way Arthur and his horse could get muddied up from falling to the ground too often, and how they could quickly clean themselves up by wading into the water. The game’s foliage is so well-rendered and smooth, and the game just looks breathtaking on every level. Red Dead Redemption 2 nails it on all fronts, and you’d be remiss to pass up on this one.

And those are our picks for the most beautiful games that released this past month. Do you think we missed anything? Let us know in the comments down below.
