Man eating crocodile monster? King K. Rool has you covered, as he is literally a big crocodile monster. K. Rool fits the bill as being merciless. Even his name is a pun of the word cruel.

K. Rool is absolutely ruthless when he’s going after what he wants, and even his own subjects fear his wrath. He rules through a mix of intimidation and violence. Even while fighting Donkey Kong, he resorts to dirty tricks like pretending to be down, only to take his opponents by surprise. K. Rool is the perfect replacement for Killer Croc on any team, he brings the sheer strength and insanity that his amphibious counterpart already has.

Axel (Kingdom Hearts) – Captain Boomerang

Brash, hotheaded, stubborn, and brooding. Those all describe both Axel and Captain Boomerang in Suicide Squad. Boomerang is an independent, intelligent, and quick-witted member of the dangerous squad. Axel has all of these in droves, and he even uses a similar weapon to Boomerang.

Captain Boomerang uses weapons of the same name, while Axel does use a chakram, although different these are both thrown weapons that require a ton of skill to use precisely and with deadly results. On top of that, they can both fight with near super speed. Axel has the wit, humor, intelligence and skill that would firmly put him as a member of the Suicide Squad.

Scorpion (Mortal Kombat) – El Diablo

The biggest similarity here is of course the ability to use fire. Scorpion draws his fiery powers from being a hellspawned revenant after his death, while the current El Diablo draws them from being possessed from one of the former versions of El Diablo. This origin story could change in the film, but for now, there’s at least some similarity.

Both characters possess immense strength with Scorpion, of course, being a Ninja and El Diablo a gangster. On top of that, each possesses a haunting skull-like visage that can strike terror into their opponents. Scorpion is the ruthless fighter any team of villains like Suicide Squad needs.

Nariko (Heavenly Sword) – Katana

suicide squad, katana, nariko, heavenly sword

Katana is an interesting inclusion in the Suicide Squad, at least in the movie, that is. Her comic book counterpart is actually a fairly strong hero of the DC universe. She’s even a part of the team known as The Outsiders. Here’s one aspect Nariko fits as Katana: they’re both heroes.

Katana is highly skilled in both hand-to-hand combat and swordplay from her time training with The Outsiders and Batman. She also wields a powerful katana known as Soultaker. This sword has the ability to to store the souls of whoever it kills, providing limited communication with the wielder. Although slightly different, the Heavenly Sword that Nariko uses has immense power and drains the user’s energy when it’s wielded. At some point in the story, Nariko makes a pact with this sentient sword and becomes a wielder of immense power.

Both of these women are incredibly dangerous with either a sword or in close quarters combat. Their training has enabled them to become talented strategists on top of their skills. Troubled pasts and a sense of honor match these two incredible fighters up well.

Vaas Montenegro (Far Cry 3) – Slipknot

Slipknot is essentially a mercenary type, willing to do anything if the price is right with no regrets. He also has a strange affinity and skill with ropes. While Vaas doesn’t really do the rope thing, although he did tie you up multiple times, he certainly has no problem doing the worst acts for money.

Vaas is a brutal, unhinged character always looking to make a big paycheck. In Far Cry 3, he captures the main character in the hopes of ransoming him off, then after cashing in, selling him into the slave trade for an even bigger paycheck. Both men are severely lacking in the morality department, and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

Albert Wesker (Resident Evil) – Rick Flag

suicide squad, rick flag, resident evil, wesker

Rick Flag is one of the only members of the Suicide Squad that actually lacks any kind of super power. Even so, Flag ends up being one of the de facto leaders of the squad, because of his strong personality and military training. The same holds true for Wesker before he basically became a bio-organic weapon. Wesker led the elite military team S.T.A.R.S to investigate Racoon city, but held everyone else on the team basically in contempt.

Rick and Wesker share this similarity and others, including some bad mental instability. Even though Wesker may not like working with other baddies, he’d buckle down and get the job done for his own personal gain. The two men share a military background and leadership tendencies, and neither one is someone you’d want to underestimate.

Edea Kramer (Final Fantasy VIII) – Enchantress

suicide squad, enchantress, edea, final fantasy 8

A powerful woman possessed by an even more powerful sorceress. Sound a little like a character from Suicide Squad. There are definitely similarities between the two characters, both have pretty pure intentions until they were possessed by an evil, magical being.

Both The Enchantess and Ultimecia controlling Edea have dark plans in store for the world, and they both drive their inhabitants to darker and darker places. They each have control over powerful magic, with Ultimecia being able to control time itself. Because of their surging dark power, it takes a lot to take either one of these characters down and they’re each dangerous enough to cause some real damage.

Agent 47 (Hitman) – Deadshot

suicide squad, deadshot, hitman, agent 47

Agent 47 and Deadshot are both well-oiled killing machines, who are the best at what they do. Both characters are technically hired assassins capable of using a wide array of weaponry, including being absolutely deadly with a sniper rifle.

There’s another similarity the two share in that neither one has any kind of super power, but they each push the limits of what humans are capable of. Deadshot is an integral character of Suicide Squad, and has been seen as a sort of antihero at times. Agent 47 is very much the same way, after all he is the hero of the Hitman games but he’s not exactly in a respectable line of work.

The two men also have sordid pasts that have helped lead them into the line of work they specialize in. If you’re looking for the most skilled assassin of the video game world to join your villainous band, Agent 47 is your number one pick.

Mad Moxxi (Borderlands) – Harley Quinn

suicide squad, harley quinn, borderlands, mad moxxi

Moxxi is a surprising video game counterpart of Harley Quinn. Besides the obvious visual comparisons between the two, Moxxi draws many similar personality traits, as well. She’s violent and unpredictable being an incredibly skilled fighter with many weapons, with her own incredibly distinct style.

The other similarity is how Moxxi interacts with others. Her flirtatious nature comes out no matter who she’s talking to, and her dialogue is filled with a ton of innuendo. Moxxi is the violent seductress that would highlight a video game Suicide Squad.

Kefka Palazzo (Final Fantasy VI) – Joker

suicide squad, joker, kefka, final fantasy 6

There’s no other character that could take this spot. Kefka is almost a mirror image of Joker, just with the ability to use magic. Completely unhinged, absolutely barbaric and he loves chaos for the sake of chaos. Kefka even revels in battling it out with the heroes of Final Fantasy VI like Joker and Batman.

Of course, the two share more than a personality, they also share a distinctly similar look. This clown is one dangerous loaded gun, who basically destroyed the world for no other reason than because he could. If there’s anyone that could challenge the power of a video game suicide squad, it would be the the jester that tried to become a god.

Commander Shepard – Batman

commander shepard, suicide squad, mass effect

Batman is the Dark Knight that keeps the streets of Gotham safe no matter what, even if some of his methods may be questioned by his compatriots in the Justice League. Likewise, Commander Shepard is the lone savior of the universe who does whatever he needs to while ensuring galactic safety.

Shepard’s actions may be morally ambiguous at times, but he’s always the shining figure for the universe to rally behind. The two heroes share a bit of that in common, actually. In the face of overwhelming odds and villains more powerful than themselves, they each find a way through their tenacity and skill.

Both these shining examples of humanity will keep watch over their domains, guarding against all evil no matter the cost making Commander Shepard the perfect fill in for The Caped Crusader.
