Multiplayer
Let’s get this one out of the way right out the gate. A multiplayer mod came relatively late in the life of Just Cause 2 on PC and it was tons of fun. Just when you thought that the mayhem couldn’t get any more explosive, some geniuses made it possible for dozens of players to wreck the world all at once.
Just Cause 3 provides a much denser world and more refined destruction. Tethers have new mechanics, and gear upgrades make for interesting set-ups among different players. This can make for some more awesome action as you move around Medici doing what Rico Rodriguez does best, and that’s blowing everything up. Hopefully the mod comes with a warning to the country’s existing digital citizens. If they thought having just one Rico around was bad, then they’re in for a nightmare once the entire Just Cause 3 PC community descends upon the scene.Â
Iron Man and Friends
There is a lot of potential for some really cool Just Cause 3 Mods. Its open nature and verticality are just begging to be explored, but unless you want to fly a chopper or one of the same few planes all of the time it can become a bit mundane. That is why it needs to take a page from the GTA Mods’ book. We’re talking superheroes.
One of the most fun mods in GTA IV and V is the Iron Man suit. Flying around without a care in the world, blasting fools with your Repulsor Beams, and just looking like a legitimate badass in whatever particular set of armor you choose. That would fit perfectly in the world of Just Cause 3. There’s also room for other heroes such as Batman, Black Panther, and the Hulk. Unfortunately, Spider-Man may have a bit of trouble getting around, but hey if someone wants to make the web-head in Just Cause 3 I doubt many fans would be against it.
Star Wars
Star Wars: Episode VII is right around the corner and the hype couldn’t possibly be more real. And do you wanna know something about that gigantic franchise? It goes with pretty much everything. Just check out this awesome GTA V video if you need proof of how the force makes everything better. Star Wars would make for some genuinely amazing Just Cause 3 Mods.
Just picture Di Ravello’s army storming some poor town with tanks and choppers and you swoop in out of nowhere in a Slave I or a Millennium Falcon. Just PEWPEWPEW all over those unsuspecting fools as you pull off barrel rolls and loop back around for more kills before inevitably smacking into the side of a mountain. Or imagine speeders being in the game so that you can recreate all the times you crashed into a tree in Star Wars Battlefront.
These additions don’t have to be restricted to vehicles, of course. Skins, weapons, jet packs, actual force powers, you name it and it will add to the fun factor of the game.Â
Actual Melee Combat
Melee combat in Just Cause 3 is lacking. You can grapple over to an enemy to kick him, but that gets old pretty fast, and then your standard melee attack is sloppy and not very useful. Gunplay, using the world to kill enemies, and vehicles are all fun, so why can’t melee combat be the same?
That’s when we need to turn to Just Cause 3 Mods. Add some melee weapons or a full suite of melee attacks so that those who want to can deliver a more personal brand of justice. Maybe it could be part of the previously mentioned Star Wars mods. Light Saber battles on top of a mountain would be the epitome of melee encounters. Please make this happen.
New Locations
Usually you see things like this in games like ARK: Survival Evolved. Players with a solid aptitude for modding will create entire worlds for other players to enjoy with the already well-established mechanics. Just Cause 3 already has several islands for players to explore and although they introduce new threats, they’re all relatively the same.
Imagine someone creating a futuristic island with huge alien monoliths, tons of new enemies, and other world threats. Maybe locations based off of other popular games or silly ideas. Just spots where you can take full advantage of all the gear and abilities available to Rico.Â
New Challenges
Challenges in Just Cause 3 are surprisingly fun. There are races, obstacle courses, chaos challenges, sky diving, and more. They allow you to experience all that they have to offer, but they can definitely become a bit crazier. In a good way, of course.
The community could certainly think of combinations that could test the limits of all players. Maybe triathlons where you race, glide, and blow things up? That would certainly be fun to compete with your friends in. We’re pretty sure that the modders of the world can think up even cooler ones.Â
Base Building
Bases are easily one of the most fun elements of Just Cause 3. Entering these territories and completely demolishing all that Di Ravello has built provides a feeling that not much else in the game can provide. In the beginning, they were easy to take down for even the most casual of players. Â But, as you progressed through the world, they became much more elaborate and challenging.
Now, let’s take that up a notch. Imagine being able to create your own elaborate base, complete with Chaos Targets, defenses, and soldier formations. Build bases that take up entire islands with multiple back-up waves, vehicle and weapon placements, weather effects, and more. This can be an entire mode unto itself, where you create things, test them, and release them into the wild. Adding a creative element to Just Cause 3 definitely wouldn’t hurt and will make it the go-to for all of your needs.
