Today a brand new Assassin’s Creed game has been released, however it’s not the sort of vast open world Assassin’s Creed title that fans of the franchise have come to expect. This game is part of the new 2.5D Assassin’s Creed Chronicles games Ubisoft is releasing digitally on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The Assassin’s Creed Chronicles will span over three different games, each one following a different assassin in a different part of the world. The first game, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China is out today and to get you in the mood, Ubisoft has released a launch trailer.
In Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China, players will assume the role of a female assassin named Jun who is on a quest for vengeance. The trailer shows of the beautiful graphics and art style of the game which is designed to look like a moving watercolor painting.
The rest of the Chronicle games are due to be released later this year. The next Chronicles game will be called Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India and will tell the story of an Indian assassin named Arbaaz Mir in 1841, who’s quest takes place while the Sikh Empire was at war with the East India Company.
The last game, Assassin’s Cree Chronicles: Russia will take place in 1918 and will follow a Russian assassin named Nikolai Orelov and will take place in the aftermath of the October Revolution.
