Team Fortress 2 is the multiplayer PC game that just doesn’t quit. No matter how long it’s been around for, its compelling team-based action never ceases to keep players coming back. If you’re going to succeed, though, you’ll need to communicate with your teammates and other players within the game. Here’s how to chat in Team Fortress 2 and talk to other players.
How to Chat in Team Fortress 2
If you’re using default controls, all you need to do to chat with your teammates is press the ‘U’ key.
After this, enter your message and press Enter to send the message.
The same thing applies if you’re looking to type a message meant for everyone, except rather than pressing ‘U’ you’re going to press ‘Y’ instead.
Keep in mind, any offensive or abusive messages you send to teammates could be reported and result in a ban, so keep it clean!
How to Use Voice Chat
If you’re looking to send over a quick voice chat, all you need to do is press and hold V while you’re talking. Let go of the ‘V’ key when you’re done and the message will be sent.
It may sound obvious, but remember you’ll need to have a microphone of some sort plugged in and ready to use on your PC or laptop in order to use voice chat. Most laptops have a built-in microphone, so it shouldn’t be too much of an issue for most players nowadays.
