How to Raise Your Gang’s Mood in Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 has finally arrived, bringing a massive open world filled with various activities, both criminal, and lawful, that players can undertake at their own leisure. Be it a spot of hunting, robbing a train, or going after wanted criminals, it’s all doable in the game. Your fellow members of the Van der Linde gang are particularly important, and you’ll want to keep them happy in order to be set for all of your adventures out in the wild west. Here’s what you need to know to raise your gang’s mood in Red Dead Redemption 2.

What Your Gang Does

It sure can be lonely being an outlaw. So it’s a good thing that Red Dead Redemption 2 allows you to pal around with your own merry band of thieves known as the Van der Linde gang (not to be confused with the Van Buren Boys).

The gang will occasionally provide you with quests and missions for you to join them on, as well as contributing to the storyline. Just like in real life, it’s up to you how much you actually care about your friends, but the more effort you put in, the more positive results you’ll see.

Where to Meet Up With Your Gang in Red Dead Redemption 2

You’ll be able to rendezvous with your cronies at the camps set up around the map. If you want to keep morale high, make sure you check in at the camp regularly, and have a chat with the gang members while you’re there. Some of them will just want to see how things are going, or tell you a story. Others may ask you to head out on a quest with them. It’s all part of the fun of being in a gang.

It’s worth noting here, however, that not all of your gang members will always be at your camp in Red Dead Redemption 2. Just like Arthur himself, they’ll be going off and doing their own thing from time-to-time, so they may head out and not return for a couple of days.

How to Raise the Gang’s Mood

Speaking of morale, there are a few things you can do to keep spirits up whenever you return to base camp. You can donate money by going to the box in your camp next to the ledger to help fund the camp’s facilities. If you buy the upgrade for Dutch’s lodging for $220, it’ll encourage the other gang members to contribute more towards the camp’s spends.

That’s not going to necessarily raise the gang’s mood, but it will mean you’re not having to focus so heavily on providing for the camp, and will make maintaining food, ammo, and medical supplies considerably easier. The less these are running low, the happier your gang will be.

Your gang members are also rather fond of not starving, so make sure you share your haul with the crew every now and then. Hand it on over to Pearson, and he’ll see that it goes to good use.

It’s not all about just bringing home the bacon… and money, though. Sometimes, the gang members will ask for your help. Assisting with their tasks is a good way to boost the gang’s mood. Sometimes these will require you to engage in some unlawful activities, or good ol’ gang hijinx, while other times you’ll need to complete item requests. These task you with finding specific items out in the world, and completing these is a surefire way to keep your gang happy in Red Dead Redemption 2.

And that’s all you need to know in order to raise the gang’s mood in Red Dead Redemption 2. It all goes to show that there’s safety in numbers, but don’t worry if your gang’s falling apart, because the team at Twinfinite have always got your back!
