How Big Red Dead Redemption 2’s Download Size Is (Install Size)
Red Dead Redemption 2 is every open world fan’s dream come true. A massive world with plenty of things to do in it. You can fish, people. This is not a drill. With all that there is to do in this tremendous world, though, there’s a burning question in fans’ minds. How big is the download size (or install size)? Don’t worry, we have the answer. Here’s how big Red Dead Redemption 2’s download size and file size is.
Update: We can now confirm for certain that Red Dead Redemption 2’s install size on Xbox One comes in at 106 GB, while the PS4’s is a slightly more bearable 98 GB.
For fans looking to download their new favorite Rockstar game, they’re going to need a ton of space. The download size for Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out to 105 GB. Crazy file size, right? This is according to the back of the PS4 Pro bundle box, by the way. We’ll be sure to update this if anything changes between now and release. But yeah, it’s insanely huge for now.
If you’re looking to get RDR2 on disc, then you’ll be perfectly fine, of course. Otherwise, it’s time to start deleting files off your PS4. You can do this of course by highlighting anything currently installed, pressing the Options button, then selecting delete. This works for games, apps, themes, save files, and more. Every little bit counts when the game’s file size is so massive.
Or, you know, get yourself additional external storage. Here’s how to upgrade your PS4 hard drive. If you’re made of money, invest in a bigger version of the PS4 you have (PS4 Pro includes quite a bit of space at 1TB by default).
Red Dead Redemption 2 officially releases on October 26, and plenty of gamers will no doubt be calling in sick in the following weeks.
