Can Metal Gear Survive Be Played Offline?
Metal Gear Survive, the zombie-invested spin-off game that has players fight in order to live to see another day, has launched recently, allowing people the chance to experience all the bloody goodness it has to offer either alone in single-player or via online co-op play. Given the inclusion of the former mode, one may wonder whether or not a consistent internet connection is required to play the game.
Unfortunately, according to the game’s official website, all of Metal Gear Survive’s game modes require an online connection, regardless of whether or not you’re playing by yourself. Though no reasons have been specified as to why offline play is restricted, one can guess that that this move was done in order to protect the title from cheaters and to keep the title’s in-game currency balanced.
On the bright side, progress and rewards in single-player are carried over to multiplayer seamlessly thanks to the persistent internet connection. Resources obtained from crafting, and recipes that you’ll learn while out on the field, will always be on your person regardless of what mode you play in, making life a little easier in terms of inventory management.
That’s all there is you need to know about offline functionality in Metal Gear Survive. Be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki for more tips, tricks, and information on the game.
