How to Focus in Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Ninja Theory’s new indie AAA title, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, is finally out and available for download. Hellblade centers on Senua as she embarks on a journey to save the soul of her loved one. As you explore the Norse and Celtic mythology inspired world of Hellblade as the ill-stricken Senua, you will come across totems, gates, and other objects that require you to focus in on them. Focusing pushes away the voices that populate Senua’s mind and allows her to relax and pivot her attention towards one specific spot. Senua can also use her focus ability during battles which can help you cause some major damage.
In order to focus while exploring, just hold down the R2 button on the back of your controller. This will cause the camera to zoom in, allowing to examine runes and Lorestones, or to activate certain illusions.
In battle, you must first obtain a charge by fighting. When you beat enemies or sometimes while triggering a perfect parry, a blue symbol will appear on your screen and the gold medallion on Senua’s side will glow. You can carry up to three of these symbols on the medallion, and they allow you to use focus in battle during Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. When you have a charge, simply press R2 and your screen will lighten up and all enemies will be still or move very slowly. You can now deal massive damage to them without anything to block you (even if they’re holding a shield). It’s also necessary for boss encounters where the enemy goes into darkeness or turns into a shadow. Â Focus is very useful when in a tight spot during combat, so don’t forget to use it.
And that’s pretty much all you need to know about focusing in Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. If you need any other tips, tricks, or guides while playing through the six hour or so campaign, please make sure to check out our ever-growing wiki guide on the game.
