Use your Jetpack to your Advantage
Your jetpack will be your best friend in every sense of the term. You will use it to get to higher ground levels and to traverse around the map at an accelerated rate.
Destroy all Nearby Terrain
Don't be shy to blast your weapon, destroying all nearby terrain will allow you to get a bunch of materials early on in the game.
Read all the Stats
Early on in the "tutorial," you might feel that you are being tossed at a bunch of stats. Best advice we can give? Read them all. This will familiarize you with materials and how the game operates early on.
Don't Harm All Wildlife You See
As you begin to familiarize yourself with the planets and what they have to offer, you will come across wildlife. There's really no need to mess with them if they aren't bothering you, it might be a good idea to stay out of harm's way early on in the game.
Balance Your Jetpack and Run Meters
The running and jetpack both have a limit meter, so it might be in your best interest to learn to balance the two out.
Charge Life Support Often
The life support will act as an overall health in No Man's Sky. Failure to keep the percentage at a high rate will cause your character to die. You can charge your life support with energy such as Carbon and Plutonium.
Don't Overcharge Your Weapon
Similar to the jetpack and your sprinting ability, your weapon will also have a limited meter. When shooting your weapon for a long time, it will drain out all of the energy, drawing the percentage to 0%. You can always recharge it with Carbon and Plutonium, as well.
Manage Your Inventory
Early in the game, you will be overwhelmed collecting all types of resources. Be wary, as you have limited space, so managing your inventory will be a good idea.
Get those Resources and EXPLORE!
The first task that you will be assigned is to collect certain resources to repair your ship. This may take some time, but once you do this, you will be well on your way to true discovery.
