Meet the Voice Actors of Mortal Kombat 11 Voice Cast

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now and its cast of characters is extremely diverse, each with their own unique fighting style. You may recognise some of the voice though, either from other games or as returning characters. Here are the voice actors of Mortal Kombat 11’s voice cast.

Ronda Rousey – Sonya Blade

Ex MMA athlete turned WWE superstar has turned her hand to acting in recent years. Having appeared in the likes of The Expendables 3 and the Fast & Furious series, she’s a bonafide action star. Mortal Kombat 11‘s Sonya Blade is the first time she’s played a character in a video game, aside from playing herself in the UFC and WWE game’s that release every year or so.

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa – Shang Tsung

It is movies that you’re most likely to know Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa from, having appeared in the likes of 2001’s Planet of the Apes, the Bond movie License to Kill, and Hachi: A Dog’s Tale. He’s not new to the Mortal Kombat franchise though, having also played Shang Tsung in the 1995 movie. In terms of other video games, he has also lent his voice to World of Warcraft: Legion.

Steve Blum – Sub-Zero / Baraka

Steve Blum is one of the most experienced video game actors working today, and you’ll almost certainly recognise one of his characters. Even in the last year, he has played Tank Dempsey in Black Ops 4, Gray in Red Dead Redemption 2, Bad Man Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, and Sam in Metro Exodus. Elsewhere, he has played Wolverine in a lot of X-Men animated shows. He returns to the Mortal Kombat series to play Sub-Zero and Baraka in 11.

Robin Atkin Downes – Kabal

English actor Robin Atkin Downes is another member of Mortal Kombat 11’s voice cast who is very experienced with video games. He has played Davy Jones in Kingdom Hearts 3, The Spider in Destiny 2, Hector Alcazar in Uncharted 4, and Kazuhira Miller in Metal Gear Solid V. He is Kabal in the new fighting game.

Phil LaMarr – Kotal Kahn

More than anything else, Phil LaMarr’s acting work has come as characters in animated shows. He’s appeared in the likes of Futurama, Samurai Jack, and Family Guy. He has appeared in other video games, though. You may know him as Vulgrim/Strife/Jones in Darksiders III, Ramza Beoulve in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, or Ratbag in Middle-Earth: Shadow of War. He has also played Kotal Kahn in previous games in the Mortal Kombat series.

Matthew Yang King – Liu Kang

He may be known best for playing Marty Mantle in Riverdale or multiple characters in Love, Death & Robots, but he has appeared in a lot of video games. You might know his voice from Injustice 2 (The Atom/Ryan Choi), Fallout 4 (Justin Ayo), and Valkyria Chronicles II (Maximilian). He even plays the little Merry Munchkin Gingerbread Pet in Fortnite. He plays Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 11.

Mary Elizabeth McGlynn – Cetrion

Mary Elizabeth McGlynn has voiced a lot of characters in English versions of anime shows, such as Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and God Eater, and she has also voiced characters in the video game version of both those franchises. She has also played characters in the likes of Xenoblade Chronicles X and Tekken 7. Interestingly, she’s also worked a lot as a voice director, working on the likes of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Naruto: Shippuden.

Andrew Bowen – Johnny Cage

Returning to play Johnny Cage, Andrew Bowen is known for a fair few other titles. While he’s acted in TV shows and movies, you will likely recognize his voice as Sergeant Thomas ‘Sev’ Sevchenko in Killzone 3, Josh Birk in Saints Row IV, and smaller roles in the likes of Red Dead Redemption 2 and the InFamous games.

Erica Lindbeck – Cassie Cage

Erica Lindbeck is one of the more experienced video game voice actors in Mortal Kombat 11’s cast. There’s a long list of characters you’ll recognize her as. She has played Black Cat in last year’s Marvel’s Spider-Man, Magilou in Tales of Berseria, and Futaba Sakura in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. She is Cassie Cage in Netherealm’s new fighter.

JB Blanc – Kano

While JB Blanc has lent his voice to a lot of video games, having played Caustic in Apex Legends, Yermak in Metro Exodus, Bane in Batman: the Enemy Within, and Rost in Horizon Zero Dawn, you probably best know him for playing Dr. Barry Goodman in Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. He plays Kano in Mortal Kombat 11.

Richard Epcar – Raiden

One of the series’ star characters, Richard Epcar returns as Raiden in 11, but you may also know his as characters in other Netherrealm games, with him being The Joker in Injustice. Away from fighters, he plays Ansem/Terra-Xehanort in Kingdom Hearts 3, Admiral in Monster Hunter World, and Principal in Persona 5.

Ron Yuan – Scorpion / Hanzo Hasashi

While Ron Yuan has played characters in a few different video games, such as Resident Evil 6, Halo 4, and Battlefield 4, he’s best known for his live action work. You may know him as Ryu Tom in Sons of Anarchy, Nayan in Marco Polo, or Feng Huan in Prison Break. He’s also due to play Sergeant Qiang in the live action Mulan in 2020. He’s also one of the fan favorite fighters in Mortal Kombat 11, Scorpion.

Jamieson Price – Announcer

He may not play any of the fighters in Mortal Kombat 11, but you might hear Jamieson Price’s voice more than any other since he plays the Announcer. You’ll likely imitate his voice as you play and see every fatality. Elsewhere in his career, he has played Raidou in Dead or Alive 6, Miller in Metro Exodus, and the Narrator in Valkyria Chronicles 4.

Ike Amadi – Geras

While Amadi has lent his voice to a lot of animated shows, he’s played a lot of famous video game characters over the years. Not only will you know him as Baranor in Middle-Earth: Shadow of War or Dr. Dayo Igwe in Prey, but he is the titular shape-shifting little guy in Knack. He plays Geras in Mortal Kombat 11.

Sean Chiplock – Noob Saibot

Sean Chiplock’s voice acting resume is pretty eclectic. Not only has he played Werner/Darius in Octopath Traveler and Yuuki Mishima in Persona 5, but he’s known for children’s cartoons such as Freedom Planet (Spade) and Camp Buddy (Aiden Flynn). He plays Noob Saibot in the brutal fighting game.

Troy Baker – Erron Black / Sheeva

One of the stars of the video game acting world, you’ll almost certainly know Troy Baker. Having played the likes of Joel in The Last of Us, Magni in God of War, Samuel Drake in Uncharted 4, and Pagan Min in Far Cry 4, he’s instantly recognizable. He’s even got a great YouTube channel with his Uncharted co-star in which he plays old games and has a laugh. He plays Erron Black in Mortal Kombat 11.

Jennifer Hale – Kronika

Another of the more recognizable names in Mortal Kombat 11’s voice cast, Jennifer Hale is known more than anything for playing the female version of Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect series. However, you may also know her as Lauvuk in Horizon Zero Dawn, Ashe in Overwatch, and Rosalind Lutece in Bioshock Infinite. She now plays Kronika in Netherrealm’s game.

Mela Lee – Jade

Aside from a couple of notable roles, particularly as Lifeline in Apex Legends recently, Mela Lee hasn’t lent her voice to that many high profile video games. She has appeared in english versions of anime shows, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pillars of Eternity, and Fallout: New Vegas elsewhere though. She plays Jade in the newly released fighter.
