Top Hat Gaming Man is a channel that is just as fun to watch as it is incredibly informative. You won’t find a ton of gameplay videos here. Instead, you’ll find a top-hat-loving gamer who has a fascinating amount of knowledge about retro games. This channel deals more so with facilitating interesting conversations about gaming as opposed to simply showing someone playing through some of your favorite games from the 80s and 90s. His library of videos includes a rant about gaming nostalgia, an explanation of why retro video game collecting isn’t quite what it used to be, and even some documentaries on early consoles.
This doesn’t mean you won’t find any gameplay on this channel. In addition to breaking down video game facts in a unique way, Top Hat Gaming Man does review a variety of different games on multiple consoles. Even his reviews just have a special quirkiness to them. It’s hard to say if it’s his dapper outfits that seem like they are fresh out of a time machine in the best way possible or if his crazy antics and over-the-top personality just make everything he does ten times more entertaining than it would be if anyone else divulged the exact same information. We can’t pinpoint the magic behind this channel but just know that it’s there and it’s worth your time.
