Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
Activision re-released Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 near the end of July 2016. It wasn’t the best port ever, as it left out some features and struggled to impress on the newer, more powerful hardware, but it did bring along a rather easy list of achievements for Gamerscore fanatics to sink their teeth into.
The game isn’t difficult in the slightest and is quite fun when playing with friends, but you do have to play through the story twice. There are two narratives, each with their own achievements. If you want the full 1000 Gamerscore points, you have some time ahead of you. On top of that are the usual suspects: collect costumes, level up characters, complete challenges. Nothing that a superhero can’t pull off with ease, though.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Of course, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 isn’t the only game with some relatively easy achievements for you to grab. It’s predecessor was also re-released, allowing you a second opportunity to earn 1000 points. It’s also the better option of the two, as you only have to beat it once, though there is quite a bit of grinding.
Thankfully, there are missions that you can repeat to help level all of your heroes up and unlock costumes and abilities. The Asgard simulations and Mephisto’s Puzzle are both useful, but you’ll still need a decent amount of of time. Collectible guides can easily be found online, so that will help you out quite a bit as well.
Another plus with this game is that you can actually pick it up along with its sequel in a $60 package rather than purchasing them separately, saving $20.
Song of the Deep
Song of the Deep is one beautiful game from Insomniac Games (Sunset Overdrive, Ratchet & Clank). The metroidvania action alone is more than enough of a reason to give this new release a try. If that’s not enough of an incentive for you, though, maybe the easy to grab achievements will pique your interest.
Most of the achievements can be grabbed simply by playing through the game’s story. There are a few that will require a bit more exploration, but this handy guide should help you out with those. Just enjoy the serene sea while you can, because some serious threats lie in the depths of the endless water.Â
Minecraft Story Mode: Ep. 7 – Access Denied
Telltale Games is always the real MVP when it comes to easy video game achievements and trophies. The studio keeps it up thanks to Minecraft Story Mode’s seventh episode, Access Denied. All you need to do is complete the episode, which should only take you a few hours, and that’s it. You’ll grab every single reward in the game and you can jump into another title to keep increasing your Gamerscore as you await the next episode.Â
Tumblestone
Tumblestone is fun, fast-paced, and challenging. It also has a list of achievements that aren’t too hard to grab as they require little more than simply playing the game. There’s a pretty long campaign that will take you through several worlds while teaching new puzzle mechanics. Each world has its own achievement, plus you’ll be able to level up quite a bit as you play solo, which is also an achievement.
We will admit, getting 1000 Gamerscore in Tumblestone won’t be the easiest challenge. While you’ll definitely obtain the vast majority with relative ease, there are some revolving around playing against Nightmare Bots. That’s essentially facing the AI dialed up to 11, or the Terminator. Either way, you can get a bunch here whether you 100% the game or not, and if you don’t mind a bit of a challenge, this is definitely a game to check out.
