ReCore, tips, tricks, beginners

ReCore was one of two big console exclusives for Xbox One owners in September, putting players in control of Joule as she battled evil robots with the help of her own Corebots. While its combination of platforming and action gameplay wasn’t quite great, it did offer some very easy achievements for anyone looking for a big jump in Gamerscore for little effort.

Of the 53 achievements totaling 1000 Gamerscore, over two-thirds can easily be picked off as you make your way through the game. While there are some achievements that may take a little bit longer such as finding all of the Prismatic Cores, you’ll be able to mop up most of the remaining achievements by simply experimenting with your Corebot designs at your workbench. You can check out the full list of achievements for ReCore here.

Forza Horizon 3

forza horizon 3

Forza Horizon 3 took the arcade-style racing of this spin-off series and jetted it all the way out to the open roads of Australia. With a huge roster of cars and sun-baked roads stretching out as far the eye can see, there’s a ton of content in Forza Horizon 3 to keep you driving for miles upon miles.

As you’re put in charge of running the festival this time around, many of the game’s 64 achievements can be unlocked simply by expanding the festival and completing events. Things like signing four radio stations, smashing reward boards, and taking part in skill songs will naturally come in time. There are a few multiplayer achievements to unlock too, but grab a couple friends and they shouldn’t take you all that long.

Batman: The Telltale Series – Episode Two

Batman: The Telltale Series

September saw the release of the next chapter in Telltale’s Batman story. As Bruce came to terms with his family’s past and continued to investigate the strange goings on in Gotham, players faced even more tough choices as they molded their own Bruce and Batman. It was a strong second episode for the series that really drilled down into the characters, their motives, and the significance of relationships in Telltale’s Gotham.

Just like most Telltale games in recent years, Batman’s achievement list is incredibly straightforward. Simply complete every chapter in the game to unlock all of the achievements and net the full 1000 Gamerscore for the game. There was another 200 G on offer in episode two which takes only a couple of hours to complete.

FIFA 17

FIFA 17

If you’re a soccer fan, you’ll know all too well that September can only mean that the new title in the FIFA series is out. FIFA 17 brought about a number of big changes including a ‘story mode’ in the form of The Journey, a switch to the Frostbite engine used in series such as Battlefield, and a reworking of how set pieces are executed on the pitch.

With 45 achievements to grab, FIFA 17’s list is another that you’ll more than likely tick a majority of off as you play it throughout the year. The achievements are spread fairly evenly over most of the game’s different modes too, so you won’t be at a disadvantage if you opt to not check out a specific mode. Check out the full list here.

BioShock: The Collection

bioshock: the collection

BioShock: The Collection packs in all three adventures from the series and bundles in all of the additional DLC offering one comprehensive package. Heralded as one of the greatest series of recent years, the BioShock Collection not only has great story, gameplay, and visuals, but a pretty good offer for achievement hunters too. Because this is three separate games, there are three individual achievement lists for you to take advantage of. In total, the three games on Xbox One bring just shy of 4000 Gamerscore to the table.

While there are certainly some tricky achievements to unlock in all three games, there are also a huge amount that you’ll pick up simply by playing through each of the game’s campaigns and DLC offerings. They may not offer big chunks of Gamerscore but they all add up when put together. What’s more, a lot of the achievements that may require a little more thought than simply playing through the game normally have roadmaps and guides allowing you to maximize your Gamerscore yield from a single playthrough. Now go forth and explore Rapture and Columbia to your heart’s content.
