PS4K: Back for Revenge Part Deux
Some people might call it PlayStation 4.5. Some might call it the Playstation 4k. Do you know what these people can’t tell you? If this rumor is true. The rumor started with an article by Kotaku and was then reported by Eurogamer after their own research. It should be noted that in both articles there are different details about what type of media the rumored hardware can actually play.
Sony does have a history of re-releasing their consoles, but if this rumor is true then this would be the first time a drastic change to the software is made. The PlayStation 4 has been out since 2013 in almost everywhere except for Japan which saw the release in 2014. This would mean that the updated version of the console would release about three or fours years after the original PS4. It should be stated that while Sony does have a history of re-releasing whatever console they have out at the moment, that still doesn’t make this rumor true.
 Who You Gonna Call?
Back in January, it was reported that a new Ghostbusters game might be coming in 2016. What spurred this was Mark Caplan, Senior Vice President for Sony’s Global Consumer Project, stating that Activision was planning a tie-in game for the movie. The movie is set to release in July of 2016 but no release date for the game has been announced. In fact, Activision never released a statement regarding if there will be a game or not.
This wouldn’t be new territory for Activision since they have done games about Transformers, Spider-Man, Teenage Mutant Turtles, and a couple of other popular movie IPs. Of course, only time will tell if this rumor becomes true or not.
Third Time’s the Charm?
BioShock: The Collection has popped up on the ESRB, marking the third time this collection has come up. The site goes on to describe it as a “collection of three first-person shooters,” where players can discover “the mysteries behind the dystopian societies of Rapture and Columbia.” The first time this collection was seen was on a South American website and the other on a Taiwanese website.
This collection is reportedly coming to the current generation of consoles and PC, marking the first time it would be on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’s said to include BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock: Infinite. Irrational Games, however, hasn’t made any announcements or released any statements regarding this rumor.
Guns… In Space!?
Imagine a Call of Duty game, but in space. Guns blazing in zero gravity, spaceships with bigger guns ready to fire, it could be everything Star Citizen got paid to be. This rumor first appeared on NeoGAF and would go on to be reported by several news outlets.
It should be noted that Eurogramer did report that this would not be a sequel to Call of Duty: Ghosts. Of course, this doesn’t mean that the game has been confirmed;Â Activision has yet to reveal any official details on the upcoming shooter, nor have they even commented on the rumors.
You Either Die A Hero…
Back in February, rumors started that Crash Bandicoot might be making a return in some form. The Director of Product Development at the National Entertainment Collectibles Association talked about a few figurines he was making for Sony. Of course, it was never stated that he got confirmation that Crash Bandicoot was getting rebooted. There have been moments when an official PlayStation account has tweeted out things related to the IP, which naturally sparked rumors of a reboot. It is possible he saw those tweets and assumed something along those lines.
Another idea would be that this could be just a new figurine to honor the game’s 20th anniversary on Sept. 9. This only comes about because NECA has worked with Sony on figures before. Of course, nothing here is confirmed.
Another Game About Zombies: The Sequel
While it might not be the first zombie based shooter game, it sure is a popular franchise with two games already out and a third rumored on the way. This rumor started because of a report made by Express which stated that the game should release in 2017. In the article, they go on to talk about the main characters and that six separate campaigns will be playable.  The unfortunate part is that the news site does not link towards any sources or state where they get their information from. That would make it hard to determine just how credible this rumor is until Valve releases a statement regarding this series.
The last time Valve released a game was recently with The Lab for the HTC Vive. Valve hasn’t released any information about if they would even go back to the Left 4 Dead franchise after seven years of being away.
Mother 3 Coming… Soon?
The rumors of Mother 3 being released outside of Japan have been around for years. This time might actually have some weight behind it as Emily Rogers, a well-known Nintendo rumor source, has tweeted out hints towards this happening. Rogers is also behind the recent rumors of a Paper Mario game for the Wii U and has a history of tweeting out rumors and then deleting them.
She’s not always on point with her rumors, of couse. But even so, Nintendo has already started porting older games to great success as seen with the original Pokemon. Thus, another beloved and desired classic doesn’t sound too far-fetched.
Legend Of Zelda To the NX
This is one of many rumors surrounding the Nintendo NX and seems to be the topic of debate for certain Nintendo fans. Will the Legend of Zelda dual release on the Wii U and the Nintendo NX? According to this particular rumor, it will. The rumor claims that the game will get released for the holidays as a launch title for the NX, alongside other games whose titles are currently being withheld.
There has been no information about this console whatsoever and we for sure don’t know what the controller even looks like. This Legend of Zelda game might eventually go to the NX, but the only thing we’ve heard so far is that this is a Wii U title. Nintendo has kept a pretty tight lid on anything Zelda related and has absolutely put a steel trap on anything related to the NX.
The Reason Why We Have Trust Issues
All the rumors and fake leaks regarding the NX as of late are why people have trust issues. The only thing we know so far is the console will have Dragon Quest XI. It has been rumored that Smash Bros., Legend of Zelda, Luigi’s Mansion 3 and many other games will also be joining in on the lineup. There have been reports that the NX will be a console/mobile hybrid and that its controller might be touch screen. If it wasn’t for the President of Nintendo, Tatsumi Kimishima, talking about the NX then we would probably dismiss the NX as a rumor itself.
The rumors are no longer just about the console and the games itself. It has even gotten to the point where rumors of Wii U production being halted have made their way onto the news. At least this time Nintendo did come out and say that they weren’t stopping production. And then they went right back to not saying anything about the NX.
