NBA 2K16
The next game on the list isn’t particularly time-consuming, but is extremely difficult. NBA 2K16 has an awful reputation among trophy hunters. The platinum trophy was completely unattainable for a long time, and two specific trophies made it impossible; the How Much You Got trophy was glitched, and the Fortune Hunter trophy was not attainable at launch. For the Fortune Hunter trophy, you have to acquire all runes for the MYTEAM. To acquire the runes, it will require a large amount of MT (in-game currency). The reason this trophy was unattainable at launch was that it requires historic players. Historic players were periodically released by 2K, so many players had to wait to get the platinum trophy. This grind will take upwards of 100+ hours to complete. There is a nifty website that helps out with the progress and keeps track of everything.
Even if the nonsense with the two trophies mentioned above is ignored, the reason this game is on this list is because of the Perfection trophy. What does this trophy require? It requires you to win all 10 games in Greatest of all Time. The Greatest of all Time is an online mode where you have to win at least eight out of 10 games to move up in ranking. Once you reach the top division, you have to go 10 for 10 in games played. Lose just one match? Too bad, you have to start over and begin the process again.
These 10 games can’t be boosted either, so even if you have friends available to play, they can’t help. The Perfection trophy is aimed toward the best of the best, which means the only people that have this trophy and possibly the platinum are players who love this game so much that it might be one of the few games that they play. The expertise and knowledge required for this platinum trophy are insane.
