Most Beautiful Games of November 2018
Hitman 2
After IO Interactive’s success with their episodic Hitman release, the developers decided to go big with Hitman 2. The game is still presented in an episodic format, but it’s been bundled into one package this time around. In addition to that, the levels are bigger and better than before.
While the graphics of Hitman 2 aren’t exactly on the same level as the likes of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Battlefield V (more on that later), it’s wonderfully vibrant and detailed.
The Miami level is a real standout here, with a bright color palette assaulting your senses everywhere you turn, and in a good way, too. If it weren’t for the fact that you were there to assassinate someone, Agent 47 could very well spend a few hours there taking in the sights, and that’d make for a pretty enjoyable experience as well.
The environments in Hitman 2 are varied enough to keep players engaged, and the level of detail present in this game is astonishing.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy
Surprisingly, Spyro Reignited Trilogy might very well be the most beautiful game we’ve had the pleasure of playing in November 2018. As you probably already know, this is a full-on remake of the original PS1 classic games, and it looks simply gorgeous.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy rebuilds the original titles from the ground up in a new engine, complete with redone models, textures, and breathtaking lighting effects.
The real highlight of Spyro was how the game always made you feel like you were playing a cartoon, and the remade trilogy enhances that feeling a hundredfold. It might not be a beautiful game in the photorealistic sense, but it’s charming in a timeless, cartoonish kind of way.

Fallout 76
Alright, so Fallout 76 isn’t exactly a very good game. In fact, it’s so riddled with bugs and devoid of any character that it can be almost painful to play. However, that doesn’t change the fact that this is one of the most beautiful games in the Fallout series.
Consider this: virtually every other entry in the Fallout series has been set in a decrepit wasteland that’s just awful to look at. Everything is brown and black and gray, and sometimes dark green if you step into a pool of irradiated water.
Contrast that with Fallout 76, where the ‘wasteland’ is vibrant and lively. The autumnal vibes of the game are incredibly welcoming, and there’s a sense of warmth that permeates throughout the game as you explore. Fallout 76 also features a detailed photo mode that lets you take stunning landscape photos, and shots of its lovely vistas.

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee
Similar to Fallout 76, Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee are also easily the most beautiful games we’ve seen in the Pokemon franchise. Except, well, it’s actually fun to play.
Anyway, Pikachu and Eevee are remakes of Pokemon Red and Blue on the Game Boy, which means that the iconic Kanto region has been lovingly recreated from the ground up. Developed for the Switch, it’s really quite amazing to see how far the Pokemon franchise has come. Character models are actually fully-fledged humans (a trend that started with Sun and Moon), and even the little environmental details like the water and tall grass have also been given a nice graphical upgrade.
What makes Pokemon Let’s Go so stunning, however, is the fact that you can actually see wild Pokemon roaming the world along with you. And all the Pokemon are appropriately sized —a fact that really only hits you when you encounter your first wild Onix in Mt. Moon.

Battlefield V
Developed by DICE and created with the beautiful Frostbite engine, Battlefield V is a stunning game, as you might have already expected. Still, it’s hard not to be impressed by what the developers have achieved here.
In addition to just really pretty lighting effects, there are so many little details in this game that just help make it stand out from the competition. The whale on the Nardik map, for instance, is still awe-inspiring every time you glimpse it swimming below the surface. And the level of detail in this game is obvious as well, evident by the visible damage you can inflict on armored vehicles.
Battlefield V’s campaign is a tad underwhelming, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still appreciate how pretty it looks.
