Things That Need to Happen With The Legend of Zelda Series
Give Us a Unique and Original Story With Link and Zelda
Girl gets captured. Link saves the girl. Ganon is defeated. Rinse and repeat. This tried and true formula that Nintendo constantly chooses to use for most Zelda titles –while effective– can sometimes get a tad repetitive (but hey, it works). For the T.V. series, It would be invigorating to get a whole new take on the dynamic trio, or even an all-new villain altogether, with Zelda taking on a role that she’s never done before.
We’ve already considered a few scenarios that could work extremely well if executed correctly. Imagine this: Link and Zelda are best friends right? Like they hang out every day after school, go to cafe’s to drink some Lon Lon milk lattes, and best friend stuff like that, but then one day, Zelda’s father –who is also Zelda and Link’s teacher– gets corrupted by an evil entity and becomes possessed. This leaves Link on a quest to exorcize the demon from Zelda’s father and of course, Zelda isn’t happy with this as exorcizing her father could possibly be fatal. Half of the show could revolve around Link finding a way to kill her father in order to save Hyrule and the other half about Zelda searching for a non-lethal method.
Okay, let me pause before someone snatches my marvelous idea. But you get the essence of it, just give me a unique story with a villain that’s not Ganon and you got yourself a pretty entertaining television series right there.
