SUPERHOT, review

Microsoft is offering up some pretty sweet deals for its Gold subscribers in March 2018. The two headlining titles for this month are Trials of the Blood Dragon and Superhot. If the first game sounds a tad familiar, that’s because it’s actually a crossover between the Trials series and Far Cry’s Blood Dragon spin-off. It’s not as tacky as it sounds though; the game offers 30 missions for you to power your way through, providing players with various vehicle types such as bikes, tanks, and even jetpacks. There are also some shooting mechanics to help break up the gameplay a little. If you’re dedicated enough, there are also a few secrets and Easter eggs to be hunted down.

Superhot is also on offer as one of the free games for Gold subscribers this month. It’s an FPS game with a pretty neat twist: time stops when you stop, and everything moves along with you. You’ll have to figure out a strategy to eliminate all your enemies without taking a single hit yourself in each stage, and dodge bullets as they come at you.

Gold subscribers will also have access to Brave: The Video Game, and Quantum Conundrum, which is another FPS puzzle title for those who can’t get enough of the genre.

March 2018 Free Games

bloodborne

Sony is bringing out all the big guns this month. There are a few other gems available for PS Plus subscribers, but all eyes will be on Bloodborne as it’s made completely free for the first time since its launch back in 2015. Developed by From Software, Bloodborne is quite possibly the greatest exclusive game we’ve seen on the PS4 because of its compelling action RPG gameplay, as well as the phenomenal world design and lore that go with it. Players take control of a hunter who’s arrived at the Gothic town of Yharnam, where they must seek a cure to rid themselves of a deadly disease. The only problem is, all the townsfolk have turned into bloodthirsty beasts and psychopaths. Much like the Souls games, Bloodborne allows you to customize your character builds and weapons, and it pits you against a series of challenging bosses while a roaring orchestra anthem plays in the background.

Ratchet & Clank is another big one up for grabs as well. This remake is absolutely gorgeous, and it’s a great way for series newcomers to acquaint themselves with PlayStation’s iconic duo. The game features a plethora of new weapons for you to try out, and its fun platforming and hilarious dialogue make this a must-play for any PS4 owner.

Aside from the two heavy hitters, PS Plus subscribers can also check out Mighty No. 9 and Claire: Extended Cut, a beautiful 2.5D title that has you control a young girl trying to find her way home while braving a few horrors here and there.
