12 Games That Prove Switch Isn’t Just for Kids

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Bayonetta 1 and 2

Recommended Videos

Bayonetta 1 and 2 are perhaps two of the most risque and raunchy games you’ll ever play. Yeah, they’re violent in that this witch in black can summon huge creatures that literally chomp on the heads of enemies, but you haven’t seen anything until you witness the titular character wrap her leg around a lever just to open up a gate ahead. Though her suit covers the entirety of her body and there’s very little nudity involved (unless you’ve never seen a butt before), Bayonetta really doesn’t leave a lot to the imagination.

DOOM

Doom

DOOM is one of the most gory yet satisfying games you can enjoy on the Switch. Lots of guns, a chainsaw, and even your own two hands can be used to slice enemies apart and rip their innards out from their bellies. Of course, if you’re not a fan of mutilation, you can outright disintegrate enemies with robot launchers and rain a mass of blood all over your victorious self. Your character also slaps droids for being nice to him, which is pretty funny.

Resident Evil: Revelations

No list of adult-only games would be complete without the inclusion of a Resident Evil title. Resident Evil: Revelations has some of the best dismemberment that fans have seen to date, including decapitation, which is arguably the best kind. Sprinkle in screams, lots of curse words, and a few sexual innuendos and this game is sure to satisfy any adult’s thirst for gritty content both at home and on the go. Just make sure you’re in a corner when you get to the part where the dude has to cut his own arm off.

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes

no more heroes, travis strikes again

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is due for the Switch sometime this year and though we haven’t exactly seen a lot of it yet, one can assume that it’ll continue the raunchy, highly suspect, downright strange pedigree the series is known for. For reference, the last game included swearing, drinking, disembowelment, literal toilet humor, and a charging move that will take your breath away, to say the very least. All of this and more will no doubt leave you scratching your head as you try to understand how the franchise was green lit in the first place.

L.A. Noire

L.A. Noire bars little in the way of exposing players to the harsh reality that is crime in 1947. Featuring some scenes that are borderline unwatchable for how graphic they are (particularly when it comes to mutilations), players are forced to investigate bodies and sift through bloody drug paraphernalia in order to find evidence that will aid them in determining suspects. What’s perhaps most mature about the game is its constant discussion on race relations, as some characters vehemently discriminate against others as the narrative unfolds.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus

Wolfenstein 2 pretty much features everything you can think of when it comes to the term “adult entertainment.” Nudity, sex, explosions, and the disintegration of pretty much anything associated with Nazis can be found here. As if all of that wasn’t enough, one character ingests LSD and puts on a colorful show while bullets fly all around him midway through the game. Seeing as how it is a title heavily featuring SS soldiers, expect to witness lots of anti-Semitic remarks, too.

The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth +

Friday

The Binding of Issac is one of the most mature games on the Switch right now if only because its premise heavily involves the Catholic religion. Issac’s mother receives a message from God demanding her to take the life of her only son. After learning this, Issac flees to his basement only to encounter a challenging gauntlet of disgusting monsters that are out to devour his flesh and blood. Though filled with horrors unimaginable, there is a tinge of sadness laden underneath that only adults will be able to fully grasp. To top it all off, the title also sparks a heavy discussion on the meaning of religious faith.

Payday 2

Payday 2

Payday 2 is one of Switch’s more recent releases and allows players the chance to kill hostages, eliminate rival gangs, and murder police officers all in the name of a few extra bucks. Money isn’t the only commodity you’re vying for, though, as drug deals are just as important to keep your crime syndicate intact. Add in women in suggestive poses and Payday 2 basically makes for the video game version of the most violent heist movie you’ve ever seen.

Gal Gun 2

Gal Gun 2 has yet to release for the Switch, though when it does later this year, rest assured it will deliver on all the perverseness you’ve come to expect from the series. If you’re unfamiliar with Gal Gun, most titles revolve around a faceless male character who’s tasked with finding his “True Love” by shooting off his “Pheromone Shot” onto dozens of school girls. Bondage, see-through uniforms, and more are all staples of this distinguished Japanese franchise. That’s not even mentioning “Doki-Doki Mode,” which is best left to your own imagination.

This Is the Police

this is the police

This Is the Police isn’t as graphic as other entries on this list, though it is still intended for mature audiences thanks to its heavy emphasis on determining what is morally right and wrong. Oftentimes, players will be tasked with figuring out which crimes are a priority over others, as a case of domestic assault may not be as bad as a shooting. There’s also the mafia to consider, which will pay you handsomely to reach your quota so long as you turn a blind eye to its criminal activity. This Is the Police is a game that kids won’t really take to, but something that’s interesting enough to keep adults invested.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim doesn’t feature the most intense blood and gore on this list, nor does it have characters that are as unhinged as Travis from No More Heroes or the protagonist in DOOM. It does, however, require a good amount of investment to derive fun out of it. Leveling up your skills and abilities is the name of the game, which isn’t necessarily the first thing most kids look for. Aside from that, Skyrim’s world opts to be more realistic than imaginative. Your character has the chance to drink a lot of alcohol, for instance, which may not be a good idea to show your kids lest they become drunkards the rest of their lives. I’m kidding, mostly.
