BEST SWITCH KIDS GAMES OF FEBRUARYsteamworld dig

SteamWorld Dig is what happens when you mix Dig Dug, Metroid, and Castlevania together in one big pot and set it as high as the heat can possibly go. SteamWorld Dig gives you a pick-axe and lets you go ham underground, picking away at dirt, collecting resources and upgrading your abilities to go even further down into the ground.

Each mine that you go into is randomized, forcing you to think on your feet and expect the unexpected. The penalty for dying isn’t too harsh, since you can always go back down to get your loot if you happen to get defeated, making the game easier for the kids to get into. And if they just so happen to dig this game (see what I did there), you can introduce them to SteamWorld Dig 2, which is also on the Switch eShop and does what the original did, but way better.
