10. The Vacancy

The Vacancy, Destiny

While fusion rifles are in a bit of a weird spot right now, The Vacancy is actually a very solid choice if you’re not a fan of the other special weapons. While it’s possible to get a better roll for this weapon, the base Destiny vendor roll you can grab from Future War Cult is quite good. This high impact weapon is easily capable of demolishing guardians who are not paying attention. Since pulse rifles are pretty much dominating the meta right now, mid range combat weapons like this are at a premium for fast follow ups if you need to reload.

9. Hopscotch Pilgrim

Hopscotch Pilgrim, destiny

This pulse rifle can be rather dangerous in the right hands. It’s a bit different because it’s not in the wildly used Hawksaw archetype which is very low impact and high rate of fire. Instead, this pulse rifle will fire a bit slower, however, this is balanced thanks a wonderful reload speed and amazing base stability. While most rolls for this gun are useful, what you want to look for is Headseeker, Glass Half Full, or Secret Round. Since this weapon has fantastic base stats, this lets users experiment with more aggressive perks.

8. Saladin’s Vigil

Saladin's Vigil , destiny

Another solid fusion rifle for those looking for something outside of the shotgun/pulse rifle meta that’s running rampant right now. Saladin’s Vigil is fairly easy to acquire since you can simply grind for it in Destiny’s Archon’s Forge. This high impact weapon can deal out some serious damage and it comes with a relatively strong set of base stability and range statistics. However, once you add Accelerated Coils or Perfect Balance the weapon’s capabilities are pushed to the limit. If you are accurate and quick with swapping between weapons, then this will be a gun worth picking up.

7. The Winged Word

The Winged Word, Destiny

This Trials of Osiris sniper rifle is quite a powerful weapon in the right hands, even though the current Destiny PvP is focused on close quarters combat. Thanks to the high impact damage of this weapon, you can shred through enemies with near max level armor. It also comes with a variety of lower zoom scopes, which is key given Bungie wildly removed that feature in Destiny some time ago. Even though sniper rifles are in a tough spot right now, this is certainly a weapon worth trying… if you can earn it in Trials of Osiris that is.

 6. The Wormwood

The Wormwood, Destiny

For those looking to add a sidearm to their collection, the Wormwood from Future War Cult is a nasty little addition to your arsenal. Given that much of this meta is mid to close range combat, this handy weapon can inflict some serious damage thanks to its insanely high base rate of fire, reload, and stability. This means that users are more flexible when it comes to perks as the main areas you’d want to focus are already nearly at max. If you combine this with a pulse rifle that has a shorter magazine it will help guarantee quicker kills, especially the Wormwood has the Hot Swap perk. Make no mistake this is currently the best sidearm that you can obtain for PvP in Destiny, so make sure to pick one up if you’re sick of shotguns.

5. Party Crasher + 1

Destiny

Second only to the Matador 64, this shotgun has some insane range and power behind that lets you take opponents out with relative ease. If you managed to nab this weapon with any kind of range boosting perk then you can take out most enemies from a relatively safe distance. Since the impact is already stupidly high, this allows users to focus on other perks that can help tailor the weapon to their play style. While it’s not the best shotgun out there, it more than earns its infamous reputation as a go to secondary.

4. Grasp of Malok

Grasp of Malok, Destiny

Pulse rifles are at a high point right now when it comes to the Crucible and one of best weapons is the strike specific weapon Grasp of Malok. This high rate of fire weapon can shred through enemies if the player using it manages to nab some extra stability perks. Now, it may take some time to get this weapon as the drop rate can be rather abysmal if you’re looking for good rolls. However, once you nab that god roll this weapon goes from 0 to 100 very fast in terms of killing power. If you’re willing to put the time in for acquiring this weapon then prepare to do some serious damage in the crucible.

3. The Palindrome

For the hand cannon lovers out there not looking to grind strikes for days, pick up the vendor roll of The Palindrome. This weapon comes with some fairly impressive base stats as it has a nice balance between range, impact, and stability. While the rate of fire is a bit slower than some other Destiny weapons, this hand cannon can do some serious work if you pace your shots correctly. Yet, the best part is that the vendor roll comes with Mulligan, Range Finger, and Rifled Barrel. These are fantastic perks for any hand cannon, which is nice since you won’t have to grind much for this.

2. The Clever Dragon

The Clever Dragon

The Clever Dragon is the best Destiny PvP primary weapon currently available right now and has absolutely infested every corner of the Crucible. This pulse rifle is much like the Grasp of Malok and at first glance seems just like another low impact pulse rifle. Yet, what pushes this title over the edge is that the Iron Banner vendor has sold this gun with insanely powerful perks that nearly maxed the stability.

This caused The Clever Dragon to effectively become a burst firing sniper rifle that can deal a lot of damage from at range. It also has fantastic versatility, even though it has a smaller magazine than most weapons. If you’ve been playing PvP at all in Destiny recently then you’ve probably been killed by this weapon hundreds of times.

1. Matador 64

Matador 64, Destiny, PvP

The Matador 64 is the nastiest shotgun in all of Destiny thanks to its base range and impact stats that allow it to pack a wallop. This can be augmented to be even more dangerous if you manage to acquire the weapon with the best perks, allowing it to hit targets from medium distances. Yet, what makes the Matador 64 so powerful is that many of the different sub-classes can close the distance between targets so quickly. Since many abilities, such as the Striker Titan’s Juggernaught’ add benefits to moving this makes it hard to stop a “shotgun warrior” from pumping your Guardian full of buckshot.
