Mortal Kombat 11
It’s still a shock to us that a visually impressive and technical fighting game such as Mortal Kombat 11 has somehow managed to find itself a home on the Nintendo Switch… and the game actually runs at 60fps albeit with reduced graphics compared to the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
But still, you can play the entirety of Mortal Kombat 11 on the go. It sports an excellent story, a slew of gameplay modes to keep you busy, and disgustingly enjoyable Fatalities. Mortal Komabt 11 is one of the best fighting games that you can now find on Nintendo’s hybrid console.
MK11 manages to bring back most of the iconic characters from throughout the series and throws them in an epic and cinematic time-traveling story for the ages…yes, it’s insanely ridiculous as usual but that’s how Mortal Kombat has always been.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the best-selling game in the long-running fighting series and there’s no question as to why that is. This series, specifically, Ultimate, not only brings together the most popular and recognizable Nintendo characters of all time, but it even brings third-party characters to the party, creating the ultimate video game crossover.
Never would we have thought that a game would exist such as this that allows us to have battles with Sonic, Mario, Pac-Man, and Solid Snake –it’s insane how many characters exist in one video game.
Perfect for fighting game newbies and veterans alike, anybody can jump in and have a lot of fun with Nintendo’s flagship party fighting series. There are also 5 new downloadable characters coming to the game in the next year, with the first one, Joker, already been released.
There’s no shortage of fun to be had in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, so if you’re looking for the biggest fighting game on Switch –well, here you go!
Dragon Ball FighterZ
Dragon Ball FighterZ pays homage to the long-running anime series and gives fans a fighting game that perfectly captures the look and feel of the series.
There are tons of characters to choose from in Dragon Ball FighterZ with each one being detailed as we’ve never seen before. Once you start a fight in Dragon Ball FighterZ, you can immediately see the care and love that went into this game’s art style and fighting mechanics.
It’s the perfect competitive fighting experience for any fan of Dragon Ball Z and fans of fighting games in general. Now that it’s available to play on the Switch, you can start a fight any and everywhere.
Pokken Tournament DX
Pokken Tournament DX brings the world of Pokemon into an arcade fighting game similar to the Tekken series. Pokken Tournament went from being exclusive to Japanese arcades to then coming out on the Wii U and then the Switch with the DX version.
The DX version of Pokken Tournament introduced several new Pokemon fighters not seen in the other versions such as the Water-type Blastoise, and the Ghost/Steel Sword Pokemon, Aegislash.
Pokken’s photo-realistic graphics make the roster of Pokemon shine like never before. This fighting game is serious business in the world of Pokemon; watch what will happen if someone were to beat up my precious luchador Pikachu.
ARMS
Every single fighter in ARMS can switch out their… well, their ARMS for different weapons that cause a variety of effects to whoever gets hit by them. You can use a bird-like arm that hits your opponent with a flying hit to the face, you can fire huge cannon balls, and you can shoot a whirlwind to put your foes into a daze.
ARMS does a fantastic job at using the motion controls of the Switch Joy-Con, with each punch feeling really satisfying as you punch in real life. You can play ARMS locally, over online, and there’s also a bunch of other different modes besides basic fighting that are really fun too.
ARMS delivers a solid fighting experience with a couple of customization options and a good amount of characters to keep you busy for some time.
Get in the ring and bash some skulls in, just make sure not to throw your controller at the television now.
