Before you go ahead and jump into all of the fun stuff that Watch Dogs 2 has to offer, take some time to quickly load up the Ubisoft Club app from Marcus’ phone to redeem some sweet rewards. While a few of them may not be worth you spending your points on, there are some that’ll give you a handy head start in the game and allow you to start having more fun even sooner in the game.

The Startup Funding and Research Boost are two you’ll definitely want to redeem. The first gives you $15,000 for free to spend however you see fit, while the latter gives you one research point to go and invest in your skill trees. Considering some of the most fun you can have in the game comes when unlocking some of the later perks, claiming an easy research point will allow you to fully utilize your hacking skills a little sooner. Oh, and who doesn’t like free cash?

Check Out the 3D Printer

Watch Dogs 2’s tutorial will see you grabbing a weapon and the Jumper RC from the 3D printers which will allow you to at least have some chance of completing the first few missions. However, you’ll want to check out everything that’s on offer here as the stuff you can make can’t be gotten anywhere else.

While it’s only weapons and weapon skins you’ll have access to through the 3D printer, it’s always good to know what’s available to you before heading out on a mission or going on an adventure around San Francisco.

Go Shopping

If Marcus is going to take down ctOS 2.0, he better have some fresh threads to do it in. There are a ton of different clothing stores dotted around San Francisco, Marin, Silicon Valley and Oakland, and you’ll only get certain items from certain stores. With that in mind, it’s always worth venturing around the map and checking out what’s on offer.

Try and find something that really suits Marcus’ style. You can dress him like a hacker on serious business, or have him running around in extravagant bright hipster clothing. You’ll feel better for picking up some new clothes, though. Even if they do cost a small fortune.

See the Sights

Ubisoft has done a great job when it comes to bringing the beautiful sights of the real San Francisco and transferring them into Watch Dogs 2’s virtual rendition. Whether you’re familiar with the city or not, just heading out on your own and looking up some of the real-life landmarks in the game is one way to really show off how much effort has gone into the authenticity and visuals of Watch Dogs 2.

Granted, you might not find all that much to do once you’re there, but what else are you going to do when a city has been recreated so lovingly into a game? One idea, though, you could always take your Jumper RC to the Golden Gate Bridge and send it to its watery demise… y’now, because you can!

Sort Your Skills

Your Research App in Watch Dogs 2 is essentially the heart of Marcus’ skills development and as such you’ll be spending a lot of time here deliberating exactly where you want to spend your hard-earned research points. While it’s easy to drop these into a field that seems like it could be relevant, spending a little bit longer to plan out what skills suit your playstyle best will benefit you in the long run.

If you want to get up close and personal with your enemies, pouring research points into the Marksmanship class will probably be a good idea. On the other hand, if you’re wanting to use the technology that fills the city to help you take a quieter approach to missions, you may want to focus on Botnets or City Disruption. Well-placed research points will only allow you to further enhance the enjoyment you get out from your preferred playstyle, so spending a little time to learn what skills are available is always worthwhile.

Grab a Coffeewatch dogs 2

After a busy day of hacking the city of San Francisco and just about everything in it, there’s nothing better than heading to the local coffee shop and picking up a hot cup to sit back and relax with.

Yes, Watch Dogs 2 allows you to take some time out of your busy hacking schedule to go and take a few seconds to get your caffeine fix. It’s also a great place to hack some of the citizens of the game and bolster your bank account, too.

Creative Hacking

Building on the features introduced in the first game, Watch Dogs 2 has expanded the amount of items, buildings, and gadgets you can hack around you. Not only that, but each item or person now has a number of different things you can do when hacking them, too. For example, you can plant incriminating evidence on a citizen so they get arrested by the police, or you can just hack all cars in an area at once and watch the chaos unfold.

In the chaos of a run-in with enemies, however, it’s easy to just stick with what you know and use the same hacks over and over again. By doing so, you’re missing out on plenty of what the game has to offer. Take some time in your first few hours with the game to really get to grips with all of the different hacks and abilities the game has to offer. You’ll have some great fun just seeing what everything does, and you’ll be far better prepared for any scenario you come up against in a mission.

Download All the Apps

Watch Dogs 2’s tutorial will tell you to download Nudle Maps to allow you to find your way around San Francisco that little bit easier. What it doesn’t tell you, however, is that there’s a bunch of other apps you can download that you can use for fun, as well as earn some extra money.

The Car on Demand app, for example, allows you to order cars to your location so you don’t have to worry about breaking into someone else’s. There’s also SongSneak which is basically the in-game version of Shazam – allowing you to find out what that song is that’s playing in the background of the coffee shop or in the car. Your phone is far more than just a tool for missions, there’s plenty of fun to be had.

Take a Selfie

Once you’ve kitted yourself out in the coolest threads, reach a spot with an awesome view of the Bay Area, or just want to show off the chaos that you’ve just unleashed on the world, whip out your phone and take a selfie.

It’s a quick thing you can do simply by selecting the Camera option from your Cell Phone, but it’s a perfect and more personal way of capturing some of your best moments in Watch Dogs 2.

Explore With Some Company

Some of the most fun you can have in Watch Dogs 2 is by inviting one of your friends into your world and just screwing around. Exploring the sights of San Francisco is great, but when you’ve got a friend or two there to mess around in your city, it gets just that little bit better.

You don’t even have to limit it to your friends and family, while it’s currently offline, Watch Dogs 2’s seamless multiplayer feature will allow players to jump into the worlds of others and either help or hinder them as they complete their missions. It’s a neat little feature and one that we had a lot of fun with while we got the chance. Whichever you choose, Watch Dogs 2’s multiplayer is a blast, and is well worth inviting your friends into town for.
