Frostpunk: How to Build Automatons (Robots)

How to Build Automatons (Robots) in Frostpunk

Recommended Videos

Frostpunk is a really swanky looking game. You know, despite all the terribly bleak snow and impending doom all around your colony. It’s thanks, in large part, to the steampunk aesthetic they’ve chosen. And you know what steampunk game is never complete without? Automatons! Here’s how to build them in the game.

To do this, you first need to build a factory. This is found in the Exploration & Industry section of the tech tree, under the second tier (Drafting Machines). You’ll need to unlock that tier first, obviously, but once you do you can research the Factory and eventually build one. It costs 30 wood, 15 steel, and 1 steam core.

Once you have that, you can employ Engineers in there and have them queue up an Automaton to create. They’ll work on it so long as you have the appropriate material for one. They aren’t cheap, but they work day and night, no matter the weather. They’re a perfect substitute for workers and will never catch any cold. They may run out of battery, but it’s easy to fix.

That’s all there is to building automatons in Frostpunk! If you need more help with the game, let us know in the comments below. Check out our tips and tricks guide for some more help there, too.
