Is Detective Pikachu Coming to Nintendo Switch?
Detective Pikachu is the latest Pokemon spinoff, but it’s a bit different from your usual Pokemon game. This time, you play a Tim Goodman, a young man investigating the disappearance of his father in Ryme City. Tim teams up with his father’s Pikachu, who’s now a gruff, coffee-drinking detective. Together, Tim and Pikachu need to solve a series of mysteries and find out what happened to Tim’s father.
As the game sports both Pokemon and touch controls, it seems like the perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch, right? We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Detective Pikachu is only available on 3DS, and there are no plans to bring it to the Switch. Despite the increasing popularity of the Switch, Nintendo is still committed to bringing some level of support to the 3DS.
Despite the new detective game not coming to the new system, however, remember there’s still a brand new Pokemon game on the way for the Switch that could be released in 2018, although nothing has been confirmed as of yet in terms of a release date. For now, you’ll just need to break out your 3DS and use games like Detective Pikachu and Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon to tide you over.
