In the trailer, Galactic Empire commander and lead protagonist Iden Versio receives her first assignment from the Emperor. The game takes place between Episode VI and Episode VII, so the Emperor is dead following the Battle Of Endor and has had his universe-conquering plan recorded for the Empire to follow. Mentioned in the cutscene, Operation: Cinder was the last plan by the Emperor to destroy several planets including Naboo, the Emperor’s home planet.

Star Wars Battlefront II is scheduled to release on Nov. 17 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Origin for PC with Deluxe Edition pre-order owners able to start three days earlier. An open beta for the game begins Oct. 6 until Oct. 9, while those with a pre-order can start Oct. 4.
