Splatoon 2: How to Check Online Game Map Schedule and Rotation

Checking the Online Game Map Schedule in Splatoon 2

Recommended Videos

Just like in the first game, Splatoon 2 rotates its selection of online multiplayer modes after a certain period of time. This time around, the duration in between each rotation is significantly shorter. The first game would rotate maps every four hours, but in this one, they’ll rotate every two hours.

Whenever you boot up the game, you’ll be greeted by the Inkopolis hosts, Pearl and Marina. They’ll give a brief rundown of the currently available maps in the online multiplayer. They’ll do this for all three modes: Turf, Ranked, and League matches. You can’t skip the cutscene, unfortunately, but you can press the A button to fast forward through it quickly.

Aside from watching the cutscene, you can also check the current map rotation by bringing up your menu with the X button. Go the Online tab, and you’ll see which two maps are currently playable for each of the game modes. You can also check the maps again by going to the online battle building, right before starting a match.
