Resident Evil 7 – Getting the Albert-01R Gun
The Albert-01R is a special handgun that you’ll obtain near the very end of the game. In the second phase of your boss fight with Eveline, you’ll receive a call on your watch, telling you to make use of the handgun that has been dropped from an overhead chopper. The gun is an anti-BOW weapon that will help you make short work of Eveline in this final phase.
Once you beat the game on any difficulty level, you’ll also unlock the Albert-01R gun for subsequent playthroughs. After clearing the game once, simply start up a new game, play through the prologue, and avoid Jack until you get to the first save area in the laundry room. From here, look into your item box and you’ll find the weapon waiting for you there, along with any other items you might have unlocked by meeting certain criteria in the game.
Upon closer inspection, you’ll see that the Albert-01R gun is actually a modified version of the Samurai Edge handgun, which was the weapon of choice for members of S.T.A.R.S. in the original Resident Evil. It only holds three bullets in a clip, but it’s more powerful than the other basic handguns in the game. If you craft enhanced handgun ammo for it, the weapon’s damage is almost comparable to even the magnum.
