Pokemon Sun and Moon: How and Where to Get the Lucky Egg

Level up faster.

Pokemon Sun and Moon – Getting the Lucky Egg

Recommended Videos

The Lucky Egg is a really useful item to have in Sun and Moon. By letting a Pokemon hold this item, that particular Pokemon will gain double experience, thus allowing it to level up faster. In the entire game, there is only one guaranteed Lucky Egg that you can get. However, you’ll have to beat the game first.

After the credits roll, and you regain control of your character, head to Professor Kukui’s research lab. He lives in the southern part of the island, right beneath your house. Go there and talk to him, and he’ll reward you with the Lucky Egg for having seen at least 50 Pokemon and recorded them in your Pokedex. You can register more than 50 Pokemon even before the game ends, of course, but Kukui won’t be found in his research lab until you’ve unlocked the post-game content.

If you want more Lucky Eggs, you’ll have to try to steal them off the wild Chansey that you encounter. Each Chansey has a chance of holding an Egg, so you can either capture them, or use the Knock Off attack to swipe it off them.
