An abstract, meditative puzzle game, Soft Body combines simplistic, beautiful visuals with quick gameplay. And best of all, its release is just around the corner. Soft Body will come to PS4 and PC May 17.
Described as an action-puzzler by its sole developer Zeke Virant, Soft Body sees you control two snakes at once, guiding them through a danger filled environment. “In the game, you paint the world with your body, and as you do so, the world changes around you revealing new obstacles and challenges,” Virant says on the PlayStation Blog.
“The action is tense, but the mood is contemplative and calm. The game features 100 levels and four unique game modes. It’s a blend of quick-restart action games like Super Meat Boy and the mind-melting coordination of top-down shooters like Ikaruga.”
With different types of turrets filling the screen with bullets and numerous environmental hazards, some actually controlled by the movement of one snake or the other, Soft Body means to keep you on your toes.
What do you think? Are you worthy of the challenge, or does Soft Body look just a little too weird for your taste? Let us know in the comments.
