With just over a month before release of the gargantuan Fallout 4, Bethesda has published a pair of videos offering a little bit of insight into the game’s development. The videos were actually recorded at E3 earlier this year, but not published until now. The videos show different members of the team commenting on Fallout 4’s development. Director Todd Howard, lead designer Emil Pagliarulo, artist Istvan Pely and more.
In the first video(featured below) the team talks about spending supposedly more than 400+ hours with the game and not seeing everything, their inspiration for choosing Boston as a locations, and the act of building a post-apocalyptic Boston to the finite details.
Part 2 switches focus to the team’s decision to add voice to Fallout 4’s protagonist, who features the talents of Brian T. Delaney and Courtenay Taylor. Here they talk about how each voice actor has recorded over 13,000 lines each and the relationship that built between the actors and development team. These two actors have been booked for almost 3 years, consistently recording lines and working with the development team while keeping their involvement a secret.
“The emotional depth that we got by having the voiced protagonist, has actually been way more intense than I even expected. The advantages of it.” says Pagliarulo.
Fallout 4 is set for a release date of November 10 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Bethesda recently announced that all forthcoming DLC for Fallout 4 will not be exclusive to particular platforms. They also released a full 70 item perk tree for the game, and explained how perks and leveling will work. Are your excited for Fallout 4? The release is drawing nearer and nearer, let us know how much you’re looking forward to exploring the Boston wasteland in the comments.
