Slowly but surely, Square Enix is adding the Final Fantasy collection to Steam. On September 24, the 23-year-old RPG Final Fantasy V comes to PC for the first time with a few bonus features.

Final Fantasy V originally appeared on Super Famicom in 1992, debuting in America years later on PlayStation. More recently, it appeared on iOS with new sprites and gameplay features.

The Steam version is mostly based on that updated iOS port of the game. The new sprites were drawn by original character designer Kazuko Shibuya, and an optional boss designed by series director Tetsuya Nomura was added. Bonus dungeon The Sealed Temple from FFV’s Game Boy Advance port will also appear in the Steam release.

The game’s features also list updated controls and a newly optimized battle system, but it remains to be seen how different this will be from the iOS port.

There will be a full set of Steam Achievements and trading cards for collectors. As an added bonus, pre-ordering the game will get you a 10 percent discount.

Are you ready to sink hundreds of hours into Final Fantasy V, or will you just wait patiently for Final Fantasy XV next year? Let us know in the comments.
