Outriders is a co-op RPG that rewards players for taking out as many enemies as possible, encouraging constant combat. But what if you’re just not in the mood to point your guns at everything that moves while walking around? Here’s how to holster your weapon in Outriders.
How to Holster Your Weapon in Outriders
The short answer is that you can’t actually holster any of your weapons while out exploring the world. The alien planet Enoch is full of dangerous creatures, enemy factions, and even other super-powered Altered, so putting your gun away isn’t exactly an option here.
There are threats around every corner, so maybe that’s actually for the best. The most you can do is switch weapons when out in the field, which is done by pressing Y on Xbox, Triangle on PlayStation, and Q or mouse wheel up on PC by default. Key bindings can be customized on PC, but button layouts have set defaults on consoles.
The good news here is that your weapons get holstered automatically when inside one of Outriders’ safe zones. Areas such as friendly camps or bases are the only places in which your gun isn’t constantly in your hands. In fact, you can’t draw your weapons or use any of your powers within those zones even if you wanted to.
