Today D3 Publisher announced not one, but two Earth Defense Force games following the tease launched a few days ago.
The first game is the inevitable new mainline chapter of the series, Earth Defense Force 6.
At the moment, no platforms have been announced, but we do get the first screenshots and the mention that it’s coming in 2021.
The game is a direct sequel of Earth Defense Force 5, set in a grim future in which only 10% of the human population is left as a result of the last war.
You can check out the screenshots below.
The second game is Earth Defense Force: World Brothers, and it’s quite different in tone and style.
It’ll come in 2020 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. It’s defined as “3D Action Shooter,” and when they say “3D” they aren’t joking, as its visuals are entirely voxel-based.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see more about both games. For now, we can only wait and see.
