Beating the Shield Enemies in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

Recommended Videos

The variety of enemy types in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is pretty large, and you’ll come face to face with an enemy that wields a shield in the game’s second world. These guys don’t hit quite as hard as the Smashers, but they do have a few gimmicks and abilities that can make them a pain to deal with.

First off, the only way to deal damage is by flanking them. If you can get to their sides or rears, you’ll be able to hit them with no problem. Any damage done from in front will only hit the shield, and won’t hurt them at all. The irritating thing about these enemies is that they can fire off Honey shots, which will root you in place for one turn. This can be especially annoying if your objective is to reach a certain area, or if you’re caught without cover.

These enemies can also buff themselves to deal increased damage, so you’ll definitely want to take them out as soon as you can.
