Reviews Editor Zhiqing Wan: ARMS is Nintendo’s attempt at creating a fighting game and, like most games this company produces, it’s a unique and fascinating experience unlike any other. Though the game lacks a solid single-player campaign or any sort of proper story content, ARMS is best enjoyed online, or with a few friends in local co-op and versus. The motion controls are highly responsive, and every punch has a weight to it. The game is extremely easy to pick up (but also rather hard to master), making it the perfect party game to enjoy with friends and family, or just a regular workout game you can put on for 30 minutes or so every morning.
While we’re still not quite sure if the game will enjoy a major presence in the competitive fighting game scene, ARMS is definitely a must-have title on the Switch if you’re a fan of exactly what it is: an active motion control title that’s meant to be played with a crowd.
