Minecraft: How to Tame a Parrot

HOW TO TAME A PARROT IN MINECRAFT

Recommended Videos

Parrots are just one of the many animals you can tame in Minecraft and thankfully the steps to do so are quite simple, though they require you to follow a few instructions.

The first and most obvious thing that you need to do is find a parrot. As you’d expect, their bright coloring makes them stand out so you’ll have no trouble finding one. Next, you’ll need to gather some seeds. It doesn’t matter what kind, they can be anything such as melon seeds, standard seeds, pumpkin seeds or beetroot seeds. Once you have them, ensure that they are selected in your hot bar.

The next step is to use the seeds on the parrot. To do so, you need to right click on the parrot if you’re using a PC, press L2 if you’re on a PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4, press LT on Xbox consoles, or press ZL on Nintendo consoles.

You will need to keep feeding the parrot to tame it. To start, grey smoke will appear above the parrot but as you do it more hearts will begin to come from the parrot. Once the hearts disappear, the parrot will be tamed and it will sit on your shoulder. As you wander around the worlds of Minecraft your little parrot friend will perch on your character’s shoulder until you tell it to stop.

That is how you tame parrots in Minecraft. For more on the game, be sure to stick with us at Twinfinite.
