Yooka-Laylee Exclusive Mode: What It Is & Should You Use It

What Exclusive Mode Does in Yooka-Laylee

Recommended Videos

When you’re first launching Yooka-Laylee from Steam on PC, you’ll be asked whether you want to just “Play Yooka-Laylee” or “Launch in Exclusive Mode.” Unfortunately, Yooka-Laylee doesn’t actually tell you what this mode does, but it’s definitely something you might want to make use of.

While the exact specifics of exclusive mode for Yooka-Laylee aren’t known, it does give players a full-screen mode. Selecting the other option results in the game opening like a regular Windows 10 app.

It’s also believed that playing Yooka-Laylee in this special mode nets you a couple of extra FPS, too. Though it’s only a marginal improvement, it’s worth making use of all the same.

It’s worth noting, however, that some players have reportedly suffered issues regarding exclusive mode. Some users have found the game tends to be a little less stable when selecting it. If this is the case for you, simply select the other option instead. This is something that a Playtonic Games developer confirmed via a post on the game’s Steam community page yesterday.

That’s all you really need to know about the game’s exclusive mode. For more tips, tricks, and information on Yooka-Laylee, be sure to check out our wiki.
