Super Mario Run: What Purple Coins Are & How to Get Them

Purple Coins – Super Mario Run

Recommended Videos

Super Mario Run is all about navigating the portly plumber through different levels so he can save Princess Peach for the billionth time. On your way through each of the levels, however, you may have noticed purple coins.

You’ll unlock the ability to find and collect these purple coins in a level once you’ve collected all of that level’s pink coins. Unfortunately, these coins don’t grant you any extra unlockables in the game, but simply provide an added challenge in collecting them all. Purple coins are harder to reach than the pink coins in each level, so you’ll need to be using your very best moves in order to collect them all. These purple coins are worth more than the standard gold ones, so it’s in your best interest, and the Mushroom Kingdom’s, that you try and grab them all.

Upon collecting all five purple coins in a level, you’ll then unlock black coins. These are the hardest to get in the entire game, so be sure to brag to your friends if you manage to collect them all.

That’s all there is to the purple coins in Super Mario Run. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to check back with Twinfinite.
