Logan Director and Ryan Reynolds Confirm that Deadpool Will Not Be in the New Movie

Squashed.

There was a rumor going around yesterday that Ryan Reynolds had filmed a new scene for Logan and reprised his role as the foul-mouthed superhero, Deadpool. Unfortunately, Reynolds sent out a tweet today stating that Deadpool would not be in the movie, and that Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman was on a “solo mission.”

Similarly, Logan director James Mangold also confirmed through Twitter that Deadpool would not be making an appearance in his movie. You can check out the tweet down below.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that both parties are simply keeping the matter under wraps, and Deadpool could still potentially show up in the movie’s post-credits scene. Still, with both the actor and director denying and squashing the rumor, fans probably shouldn’t go into the movie expecting Deadpool to make any sort of major appearance.

It’s not great news for fans who are eagerly waiting for Deadpool’s next outing on the silver screen, but hopefully we’ll get some news on a movie sequel for him soon.
