NBA 2K17 publisher 2K announced today a new entry in the popular basketball franchise set entirely in virtual reality, titled NBA 2KVR Experience.
According to the press release, the game consists of several minigames including a three-point contest, a speed and accuracy skill challenge, and a buzzer beater countdown. NBA 2K17 cover athlete Paul George offers commentary and tips while players shoot in the Indiana Pacers’ stadium, Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Boosts, in the form of Gatorade, can be earned to make shots easier and recover faster.

“Our team consistently looks for new ways to deliver unique, fun experiences for the gamer,” said Greg Thomas, President of Visual Concepts. “NBA 2KVR will give fans even more access to our franchise and test new skills across entertaining VR challenges.”
The PlayStation 4 trophy list for the game was originally leaked last Sunday by achievement tracking website Exophase, but the minigame collection will also be available on PC and mobile VR headsets. NBA 2KVR Experience launches tomorrow, Nov. 22, for $15 on the PlayStation VR, HTC Vive, and Samsung Gear VR.
