The darlings of the evening were a variety of small-studio or indie games, which beat out AAA titles across a variety of categories, including Best Story, which was won by Life is Strange, and Best Music, which was taken by Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture.

The victories of “smaller” games over AAA titles was repeated throughout the event with Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, Her Story and Rocket League ending the night as the biggest winners, taking three category wins apiece.

The two biggest categories of the event were full of tough competition. Several titans duked it out for Best British Game, which was won by Batman: Arkham Knight. The overall Best Game award though went to Fallout 4, in it’s only, albeit big, win of the day.

The full list of categories and winners can be found here.

Did any of these results surprise you? Let us know in the comments.
