Here’s What Happens When You Pretend to Be Lara Croft on Tinder

"I prefer doorknobs."
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

Oh, Tinder. Such a lovely playground. I hopped on with a fake account whose name happened to be Lara, happened to love adventure, and happened to look exactly like Lara Croft from Tomb Raider. By mistake, she was listed as being 109 years old, though. Oops.

Her “about me” section simply said, “Looking for my next adventure…” Her responses on Tinder were mostly actual quotes and every single conversation began with a quote from Tomb Raider:

A famous explorer once said, that the extraordinary is in what we do, not who we are. I’d finally set out to make my mark; to find adventure. But instead adventure found me. In our darkest moments, when life flashes before us, we find something; Something that keeps us going.

I tried my best to keep it to her direct quotes. I swear.

This one guy went all in. All the time. Always.

She’s so quotable.

WHICH VIDEO GAME?!?!?!

Some guys weren’t fooled at all, though.

But mostly, they were just hella thirsty.

DO YOU GET IT?!

The question is very clear, come on.

Oh.

It started to get a little sad.

WINK. WINK.
