The game is a blend of old-school, 8-bit, side-scrolling platform, with Megaman/Super Mario Bros/Ghouls n’ Ghosts inspirations with a dash of modern design sensibilities thrown in.

In the game you play as the Shovel Knight, a small knight who draws his shovel instead of sword, out on a quest to save his beloved friend, Shield Knight. Traverse the map and fight through hellishly difficult levels to attain power-ups and abilities that will help you on your quest – slaying cannon fodder and terrifying bosses alike!

Shovel Knight first came to Nintendo Wii U and 3DS last year, but after having reached it’s Kickstarter milestone, the game is being ported to PlayStation consoles with a platform exclusive boss, Kratos!
