If you’re in the mood for action-packed sci-fi dramas in the vein of Aldnoah.Zero or Code Geass this month, you’re in luck. A.I.C.O.: Incarnation (I dare you to say that five times fast) is set in Japan in the near future when an incident known as “Birth” wreaks havoc on the world after a science experiment goes wrong. Humanity manages to quarantine the monster it gave birth to, though not without sacrificing a tremendous amount of people in the process.
Two years after the tragedy, a girl orphaned by the incident named Aiko Tachibana is told by a mysterious transfer student that she has a great secret hidden inside her body. In order to fully understand this secret and harness the potential it offers, Aiko and her strange new friend must journey to the center of where the disaster began. Seeing as how the government now keeps a close eye on everything that goes into and out of the quarantine, it won’t be easy, but it will most assuredly make for quite the thrilling experience to watch for anime fans. A.I.C.O.: Incarnation debuts March 9 exclusively on Netflix.
