Don’t Get Your Hopes Up for These Games at E3 2017

Shenmue 3 was another of the titles that was first announced during Sony’s E3 2015 conference. This time around, however, the game’s Kickstarter was announced, which, as expected, smashed its goal pretty damn quickly. Successfully funded and currently in development, Shenmue 3 is one of the major upcoming titles for PlayStation fans.

Touted as the “true sequel” to the classic open world ARPG titles Shenmue, and Shenmue 2, the game will feature familiar elements from its predecessors, while implementing new fight mechanics to bring the series to the modern era.

Unfortunately, developer Ys Net explained that rather than attending E3 in June, they’d be spending the month focusing on development. While it’s certainly disappointing news, it’s entirely understandable and if it means a better game at the end of the day, we’re all for it. Still, an update in the near future wouldn’t go amiss, but E3 2017 certainly won’t be where we receive it.
